Chelsey and Cierra here! Chelsey is the seamstress and fashion student and I just look stuff up and make her make it! We hope you enjoy our blog.
I lived in Germany in 2007-2009. It was a really amazing experience, but I only made a few projects because of how hard it was to find fabric stores that didn’t cost an insane amount per yard. So I spent most of those two years at school, reading, at the library, playing soccer, or just wandering with a few really good friends of mine. I also watched a ton of movies because of how the tv channels were set up. Most often, I watched Sex and the City. It was on a channel that played like 10 movies a month, but ended up circulating those 10.
I’m not too familiar with the show. I think it ended when I was 13, then the second movie when I was 15. But Carrie Bradshaw could be considered a fashion icon…sometimes. No other outfit of hers (besides her amazing wedding gown) has stuck with me except her tutu dress.
I have no idea why I love it so much. I think it might have been because of how fun and playful she made it seem in the movie. It could be because of how simple it looks, and open to modifications. But I love it. So I want to do one somewhat like this.
I would change the colour most definitely. White just isn’t a good colour on me when it’s the only colour I’m wearing. I’d love to have a very simple tank dress, just to protect the underneath, with a beautiful tulle on top with a simple ribbon. I see purple for some reason. So maybe I’ll stick with purple.
Seeing as Chelsey is a huge SATC fan, this deserves a reblog.
